Governing migration at local level

In a global context of human mobility and rapid urbanisation, with more than half of the world’s population now living in urban areas, local and regional authorities find themselves at the forefront in addressing the challenges and opportunities arising from migration. Adopting a flexible and comprehensive approach, this course aims to reinforce the capacities of local stakeholders to mainstream migration into local policies in order to better harness the development potential of migration and provide adequate services and protection for migrants.

Target audience:
The course is designed for officials and civil servants working with local authorities and administrations; officials from public institutions involved in development and migration policies; representatives of civil society, including NGOs and migrant associations; social partners and academia.
