DeLoG Newsletter No. 16
Welcome to the first DeLoG Newsletter in 2013. This edition strongly focusses on the on-going post-2015 development agenda. The global governance consultation in Midrand (South Africa) provided an excellent space for DeLoG to present its latest working paper on decentralisation and local governance in the post 2015 agenda. Further, we are pleased to announce that the Swiss Development Cooperation contributes to DeLoG annually with approx. US$ 300.000 for three years (2013-2015). The support aims at strengthening DeLoG through its secretariat and at supporting the implementation of the DeLoG/learn4dev Joint Learning Programme. In an interview, Birgit Hageman explains the reasons for the Swiss contribution.
In our “In Profile” section, DeLoG member Kodjo Mensah-Abrampa, policy advisor on local governance and local development at the UNDP, sheds light on UNDP’s role, approach and position on how to integrate subnational levels in the post-2015 development agenda. We wish you a pleasant reading.
