When: 16-18 May 2017
Where: Egmont Palace Conference Center, Brussels (Belgium)
Hosted by the Belgian Development Agency (BTC), the 12th DeLoG Annual Meeting will take place from May 16-18, in Brussels (Belgium) under the theme Localising the SDGs: What role for DeLoG?.
Every year, DeLoG´s annual meetings gather the representatives of its member and partner organisations to discuss current Decentralisation and Local Governance (DLG)-related issues and define the network´s future directions and initiatives.
With the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Addis Ababa Action Agenda, Paris Climate Agreement and the New Urban Agenda, the international framework for sustainable development has been newly defined and needs to be implemented now. Decentralisation and local governance reforms play an important role for achieving these international agreements and this is why the sessions of the annual meeting will discuss how to best enhance this role and localise the global agendas.
Within this context, this year´s meeting will offer extensive room for in-depth exchange of ideas, knowledge and approaches, with a focus on Localising the SDGs, DLG in fragile context, local financing and urban and territorial governance.
