The „Development Partners Network on Decentralisation and Local Governance“ (DeLoG) is an informal network of 29 bi- and multilateral development partners in the field of decentralisation and local governance (DLG). It was established in 2006 and functions as a knowledge hub and a network for knowledge exchange among different organisations as well as a platform for joint learning. Through joint learning events (face-to-face and e-learning) it develops capacities and shares knowledge among its member organisations. The DeLoG secretariat is hosted by GIZ, funded by BMZ and SDC and located in Bonn.

We can only improve livelihoods, when people on the local level are being reached by the measures of development cooperation. As such, we aim to build a common understanding of main aspects of DLG and focus on policy coherence and aid effectiveness of development approaches in the light of SDG implementation at the local level.
The following video shows in simple words, how decentralisation reforms might help to get there.
